In terms of Boston gay bathhouses, the scene is relatively limited, with Club Body Center offering the main dose of gay cruising in Boston in the traditional sense of gay saunas. Somewhat spontaneously, my good friend stopped a group of people walking by, “Excuse me, could you tell us some fun places to go near here?” They happily obliged and in no time, one of the members was writing an entire list of the best places to go out in the whole city. We raise a glass to the local wine bars, drag clubs, cocktail joints, and more that are making drinking exciting again right now. While Boston may not be one of gayest cities in the United States, it still serves up a healthy gay scene that keeps the locals entertained. For a Saturday night, Boston seemed dead. Time passed and there were no bars to be found. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager. Unsuccessful in our hunt, we began to walk the streets in hopes we would just stumble upon a hopping club. The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. My “best bars in Boston” Google search brought me no luck, most of the articles were outdated. Although I have been to Boston many times, I have little experience with the drinking scene.
